SupaTrak Tracks Cycling Heroes
Eight Officers from RAF Kinloss in Scotland, including six Squadron Leaders and one BAE Systems employee are cycling 650 miles from London to RAF Kinloss in six and a half days to raise money for Help for Heroes later this month.
The team will set off from the Ministry of Defence HQ in Whitehall at 0730 hrs on Saturday 22 August and plan to reach the gates of RAF Kinloss at 1200 hrs on 28 August 09 - cycling an average 100 miles per day - approximately 8 hours in the saddle.
Their progress throughout the week will be watched by friends and colleagues thanks to a tracking device, provided by Swindon-based vehicle tracking specialist CMS SupaTrak, which will be carried by the riders.
Squadron Leader Geoff Fleming, Combat Operations Squadron said: "From a vague idea this has turned into a frightening reality and I can't believe that we are about to set off on a 650 mile bike ride. We have been overwhelmed at the generosity of the public and thank all those who have supported us including our 3 strong support team who will accompany us throughout - albeit in the comfort of their van!"
Kate Lloyd, Marketing Manager at CMS SupaTrak said: "We are happy to be involved in this charity occasion and provide supporters of the event with an opportunity to monitor the progress of the cyclists. "
"We hope they generate the support they deserve for this very worthy charity"
Details of the event can be found at www.kinlossh4h.org where donations can also be made.
