SupaTrak helps Alb Transport track drivers in the UK and Europe
SupaTrak, the vehicle tracking system developed by CMS Global Technologies of Swindon, is increasingly proving the ideal solution for a whole range of companies wishing to manage and control their mobile assets more efficiently. Alb Transport International Ltd, a CMS near neighbour in Reading, is one of the latest companies to start using the system and says it is helping it see instantly where all the drivers are, which removes the possibility of distracting them with phone calls requesting this information whilst they are on the road.
Alb also uses the system to accurately monitor and record drivers’ hours, giving greater visibility of operations, reducing administration and providing essential information needed to prove it is complying with all relevant regulation. The company, which installed SupaTrak on six tractor units and will shortly fit the system to the rest of their fleet, operates throughout Europe and also makes regular round trips to Albania. It uses the SupaPlus option, providing a full European mapping facility, and adds that the system is so accurate it can distinguish between vehicles parked side by side in the depot.
By viewing each vehicle’s location on the computer screen in the office and being able to instantly see where they are, it no longer has to ask the question and can now simply text details of the next job to the driver at the most appropriate time. Alb Transport Director Eddie Canameti says the drivers are much happier not being interrupted en-route and fitting SupaTrak has improved the operational efficiency of his business.
“It was a good thing to do,” he says. “SupaTrak helps us work smarter and its range of flexible options fits in well with our UK and European transport profile. I just need to get CMS to fine-tune the SupaTrak reporting function to exactly match our required format and we will have everything we need,” he adds.
Low cost and user friendly, the system’s centrally-hosted web browser mapping facility ensures all vehicles are always visible at all times.
SupaTrak’s comprehensive reporting function, which includes start/stop and historic ‘snail trail’ options, also ensures that users can see where their vehicles have been, when and at what speed. The system is additionally capable of being linked to a customer’s existing back office systems to produce a totally integrated and secure transport operations solution.
