SupaTrak at Euro Bus Expo 2010

What do buses, Scalextric and The Bill’s PC Stamp have in common? Remarkably, the answer has nothing to do with advanced police driver training. In fact, Graham Cole, otherwise known as PC Tony Stamp, joined various bus and coach operators to test SupaTrak’s superb Scalextric track at the Euro Bus Expo 2010, which was hosted at The NEC in Birmingham on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th of November.

SupaTrak is one of the leading providers of vehicle tracking products and services in the UK. Additionally, SupaTrak is able to offer advanced fuel saving technology to commercial fleets, which is perhaps why the firm’s Scalextric track proved so popular among bus and coach operators. As for The Old Bill’s appearance at the Euro Bus Expo 2010, presumably PC Stamp fancied a change of pace from his beloved Ford Anglia Panda.

Despite challenging economic conditions, the Euro Bus Expo 2010 was widely perceived to be a resounding success, having attracted around 8,500 bus and coach industry professionals. Show Director, Mark Griffin, said: “The positive reaction to the show is a clear indication of the industry’s commitment and focus on delivering a high quality of service to customers. There is no doubt that there are challenging times ahead for every business. Talking to many exhibitors and visitors throughout the three days, there are some positive signs that confidence is starting to be restored in our industry. Euro Bus Expo 2010 has set an upbeat outlook for 2011”.

A spokesperson for SupaTrak echoed Mr Griffin’s comments. The spokesperson stated: “The Euro Bus Expo 2010 exceeded our expectations. SupaTrak was able to showcase its range of vehicle tracking and fuel saving technology to a varied and interested audience. Our Scalextric track proved very popular once again, attracting a surprise celebrity in the form of Graham Cole. SupaTrak made a number of important new business connections at the Euro Bus Expo 2010 and the company is already looking forward to next year’s event”.

Aside from featuring SupaTrak’s excellent Scalextric track, the Euro Bus Expo 2010 gave visitors the opportunity to learn more about the latest developments in the bus and coach industry. Numerous new vehicles and products were showcased at the event, including Volvo’s new tri-axle coach platform, Setra’s S431 double-decker coach and Fast Europe’s innovative wheelchair lift system, which has been designed for use on the Starter.
