Shortlist announced for Scottish Waste & Resources Awards 2010
From the latest medical waste treatment solutions and to community waste minimisation initiatives, there will be plenty of innovation to celebrate at the forthcoming Scottish Waste & Resources Awards, being held at the Glasgow Hilton on 6th October 2010.
Now in their 9th year, the awards recognise outstanding achievements in the waste and resource management sector in Scotland, covering the private, public and community sector. On the night, following a prestigious industry dinner, five deserving winners will step up to the podium to receive their awards from Scottish broadcaster and writer Sally Magnusson.
In the Best Partnership Initiative category, CMS SupaTrak and Fife Council have been shortlisted based on the work CMS SupaTrak have done to help Fife Council to develop a waste collection reporting suite to help them understand their routes better, identify trends and work smarter.
The Scottish Waste & Resources Awards are part of the Scottish Waste & Resources Conference, an annual two day conference and exhibition. CMS SupaTrak will be exhibiting throughout the two day event, demonstrating telemetry solutions and offering free fuel saving consultation to organisations.
This year, the title of the conference is ‘Zero Waste Scotland: Opportunities and Challenges’, reflecting recent important developments in Scotland’s strategic approach to waste. Jason Airey, Managing Director of CMS SupaTrak will present to delegates during the conference ways to cut costs and cut carbon using proven technology including EcoTrak fuel saving technology.
The new National Waste Plan for Scotland launched in June this year brings Zero Waste thinking to the heart of Scottish waste policy and this two day event will offer delegates a valuable forum in which to discuss how Scotland will take the new plan forward and meet the challenging targets that have been set.
