GreenFleet Awards 2010 Just Around the Corner
The shortlist has been announced for the 2010 GreenFleet Awards, now in its 12th year, which will be taking place at Arsenal’s Emirates Stadium on 7th October. The prestigious awards seek to give recognition to manufacturers and fleet managers that have endeavoured to take on the challenge posed by climate change by developing trailblazing methods to significantly reduce their fleet’s carbon output.
At this year’s ceremony a total of 19 awards will be bestowed upon the most deserving public and private sector fleet organisations that have distinguished themselves through their commitment to driving the progress of low carbon motoring and environmental fleet management. The 19 awards are wide ranging and include City Car Manufacturer of the Year, Electric Vehicle of the Year, Fleet Car Manufacturer of the Year and an Industry Innovation Award. 
CMS SupaTrak will be attending the awards, as they have been given the honour of being shortlisted for the IT Innovation Award, sponsored by Renault Business, which recognises the latest advancements in fleet technology such as telematics, fleet management software, route tracking and all other forms of IT related transport technology.
CMS SupaTrak was delighted to win the IT Innovation Award last year. The judges commended the ability of their EcoTrak fuel saving technology to deliver impressive cost savings and carbon dioxide reductions. This year they will be competing against Ashwoods, TomTom Work, Trimble MRM and Trafficmaster for the award, which will be judged by Institute of Car Fleet Management representatives.
The awards are to be presented by TV comedian and presenter Rufus Hound, who many will remember won Let’s Dance for Sport Relief earlier this year. He is also the Captain of the Blue Team on the Dave TV series ‘Argumental’ and has replaced Anne Robinson as the presenter of Outtake TV on BBC1.
The GreenFleet Awards are an important date in the transport industry calendar and the fact that CMS SupaTrak has been shortlisted again testifies to their continued commitment to reducing costs and tackling the issue of climate change head on.
