Control Group (UK), the Milton Keynes-based office facilities company, has added an extra layer of security to its operations after fitting vehicles with SupaTrak, the leading vehicle tracking system developed by CMS Global Technologies of Swindon.
After successful trials, Control Group is now using the system to monitor and improve control over the movement of customers’ goods in three of its four divisions: office relocations, document shredding and document archiving.
The move has improved overall security, boosting customer confidence in remote document shredding in particular, and generated some new business for the company from firms that until now preferred their sensitive documents to be destroyed on site.
Simon Church, Senior Commercial & Sales Manager at Control Group, says the SupaTrak system is also proving its worth in other areas of the business and, as a result, plans to install tracking throughout the fleet.

“Currently we are also using the system to monitor fleet management costs, making random checks on the journey reports it provides and reviewing them to see where speed, route or other factors can be adjusted to reduce running, fuel and maintenance costs,” he adds.
The SupaTrak system offers 60-second position updates to provide effective real-time tracking, and the system also includes a comprehensive reporting function that enables users to see where their vehicles have been, when and at what speed.
