SupaTrak, the leading vehicle tracking system developed by CMS SupaTrak that is already helping a whole range of companies to monitor and manage their mobile assets more effectively, has been selected by house builder Barratt to support their customer service objectives.
Barratt’s Southern Counties Customer Service team based in Guildford is currently using SupaTrak to help ensure its people are in the right place at the right time, and has found the system has a number of other benefits too.
The company, which celebrates 50 years in business next year and has built over 300,000 houses in the UK, is committed to its comprehensive Customer Care Charter: providing high standards of customer care and after sales service, often within defined response times.
As Barratt’s Customer Service Manager Ian Cummings explains “The SupaTrak system improves the visibility of our mobile workers overall and is especially useful in the event of an emergency. It enables us to see who is nearby and be able to reroute them as necessary with the minimum of disruption.
“We have a multi-skilled team in Guildford providing a range of customer support services that are constantly touring our various sites and working across a large geographic area. Now that we have SupaTrak the customer service managers have an instant overview of who is where, which helps with planning visits and has improved the overall effectiveness of our day to day operations.
“It helps us save time and cost travelling, be more responsive and improve productivity. We can now more accurately estimate arrival times, quickly respond to customer enquiries and pro-actively call customers if necessary to advise them of changes or delays.
“This in turn has improved our service to customers and that alone justifies the outlay on the system, which is proving very reliable,”
he adds.
An added benefit of having SupaTrak installed says Mr Cummings is that it also provides time and movement reports for each vehicle, which saves the accounts department administration time compiling and verifying the information needed to calculate time sheets.
As Barratt has discovered, tracking is only part of this ultra-flexible system, which is currently being used by companies across a range of business sectors for various purposes beyond simply knowing where vehicles are at any given moment.
With 60-second position updates to provide effective real-time tracking, SupaTrak also includes a comprehensive reporting function as standard that enables users to see where their vehicles have been, when and at what speed.
There is also a Post Code finder option for identifying new locations and the option to connect the system to satellite navigation, plus the option of full European mapping.
With low daily hire rates, no ties to long-term contracts and full backup support from CMS SupaTrak, it is not difficult to see why the simple-to-use SupaTrak has quickly become the preferred choice of many companies choosing a vehicle tracking system for the first time.
